Moving with kids can be a challenge that nobody wants to ever experience. Moving with kids during the holidays can make the challenge seemingly impossible. With so many things already on your to-do list for the holidays, you are adding the physical and emotional stresses of moving into the mix. Here, you will learn a few tips that can help your kids get through it with less difficulties.

Talk with Your Kids

Younger kids that still believe in the magic of Santa Clause may have a more difficult time with the move than children that know their gifts come from mom and dad. Spend some time talking with your little ones about how Santa can find them no matter where they are. Remind them of the old song "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and how he can see them no matter where they are and what they are doing. This should help them get over the thought that Santa won't be able to find them in their new home.

Letters and Lights for Santa

Another way to give your kids peace of mind about Santa is using a Santa signal light in your kids' bedrooms. Turn on the light each night and explain to your little ones that Santa will use this light to guide him to the new house.

Write a letter to Santa with your kids. Have them include the new address with their wish lists so that they can explain the situation to Santa. This is a sure way to alleviate any concerns they have about Santa not finding them.

Do Not Skip the Decorations

As you are moving, you are probably not going to want to spend time decorating for the holidays as you work to put your house in order. Your kids will remember those holiday decorations from years past and for many years into the future. The decorations help to set the tone of the family gathering and gifts appearing magically under the tree Christmas morning. Even if you scale back the decorating this year, do not skip it altogether. Keep it simple hanging the stockings with care, decorating the tree as a family, putting your kids' favorite inflatables in the front yard and maybe running some garland down the staircase.

Take some of the stress out of moving during the holidays by giving your kids peace of mind. They count on Santa to find them each year and reward them for being the good little girls and boys they strive to be. For added help, take some of the stress out by soliciting help from companies like Christofferson Moving & Storage.
